PetraTourFromAmman.com is an independent guide to visiting Petra from Jordan’s capital. We are not a tour operator, a travel agency or a booking platform. Nobody here sells you anything: we read the listings, check the figures, write down what we found and send you to the platform that actually takes the booking.
We compare the 16 Petra tours that run from Amman — from a single long day to a five-day loop through Wadi Rum and the Dead Sea — and we write the guides that answer the questions those tours raise. Every tour on this site is bookable on GetYourGuide. That is one platform, not several, and saying "multiple providers" would be flattering ourselves.
For each tour we print the price, the duration, the rating and the number of reviews behind that rating, and — the part most comparison pages leave out — what the price does about the Petra entrance ticket. Some listings include it. Some sell it as an option you tick at booking. Some expect you to pay at the gate, where it is the single largest line in the day. A table sorted by sticker price that ignores that is not a comparison.
The sentence this site was built on — "the ticket is not included" — turned out to be true of two of the 16 listings, and not in the same way twice. Checking it product by product changed the shape of every price table here.
We show what is there. The catalogue is not a shortlist of favourites — it is every Petra tour from Amman we could verify on the platform, in the order you ask for, with the weak ones still in it and labelled. 15 of the 16 carry a rating, and the lowest of those is 4.8; 1 is too new to have reviews at all and is marked as new rather than quietly dropped or quietly promoted.
We print the minuses beside the pluses. A tour that starts at 06:30 and gets you four hours inside Petra is a real thing to want and a real thing to regret, and both belong on the page.
We are part of GetYourGuide’s affiliate programme. When you book through a link here, GetYourGuide pays us a commission and you pay exactly what you would have paid without us. We do not rank on commission, and the ordering rules are printed on the catalogue page where you can check them against the table. The affiliate disclosure sets out the whole arrangement.
Prices move, timetables change, and a listing can be edited the day after we read it. Every price on this site is a "from" price recorded on the date the footer prints, and the booking platform is the final word. If you find a figure that has drifted, or a claim that does not hold, tell us and we will fix it: [email protected], or the contact page.
Safe travels — and if this site saves you one wrong booking, it has done its job.
